A lot of detail is applied to Russ' and
Bobbie' s beautiful layout. The trains run
around a nice pond and bridges span the
brook that leads to the pond. The details
at dioramas, through out the layout, defy
the 10 ft. Rule. They are so detailed that
one could go into the diorama to within

Garden railroading is a hobby that fits with
Mary Anne's & Ivan's gardening interest. The
FRADUN railway, located in Wasaga Beach,
is looped around a pond, stream and
waterfall. Recently a second loop, train siding
and storage area,  plus a village and rural
buildings were added. Now the vehicles,
people and animals can move out doors.

When you visit  Barry and Bonny in
Meaford,  you are not sure if you see a
beautiful garden with a model R.R. or a
beautiful Model R.R. in a garden. It is a
perfect match of two hobbies. Bonny is the
gardener and Barry the Garden
Railroader.  More details

C.O.G.R.A.  was invited by the Royal
Botanical Gardens
 in Burlington, Ontario to
participate  in their  seasons celebration
Doorways to the Holidays.  Train
operations were located in what was called
The Train Room.  Response from the
visitors has been very positive. The
COGRA volunteers and  RBG staff  should
be thanked for their great work during
set-up and operation.
COGRA's mobile layout was displayed and
opereted at the 2011 Christmas Trainshow
at the Toronto Internatinal Centre. It is
amazing what the volunteer members can
assemble and disassemble in the few hours
they have available at the beginning and at
the end of the show. This is a well attended
annual show in which COGRA participates
already for years.

This picture shows a part of Marcus' and
Vanessa's   beautiful European themed
layout. The layout is fully lit at night and is a
sight to be seen. Vanessa and Marcus are
long time members of COGRA. See the list of
Events for date(s) of their Open House(s).
An event you have to see to appreciate what
our hobby is all about.

Juli and Jim have an extensive layout in
Newmarket, Ontario. They just finished a
complete re-doing of their entire layout.
They replaced the very detailed buildings
and dioramas  with more weather resisting
cement buildings. The method of building
the cement structures was developed by
them. Most of the buildings are based on
those of historic buildings in the Newmarket

This is Ann and Joe,s garden layout in
Mississauga.  It is one of the earliest
lay outs of a C.O.G.R.A. member. Joe
when volunteers are required for Open
Houses and for work required when
setting up and running the club mobile
layout during  railroad shows.

Some members did not mind the long
drive to the shores of Lake Huron to visit
the beautiful large and detailed Layout
dioramas make up a very interesting
layout. Several train loops provide an
where to look first.  All the buildings are
scratch built by Fred. And all the train
loads where build by him also. Many of
the rolling stock items were weathered
and aged. With the exeption of  the very
detailed model of a sawmill which was
built by a friend of his. The open house
was during perfect weather.
